Monday, 04 December 2023 8:26 amShares in 888 Holdings have leapt more than 10pc this morning following Oliver Gill's scoop in The Sunday Times this morning about a secret takeover bid from Playtech in July pitched at 156p a share.
Tuesday, 07 September 2021 10:38 amDominic Walsh, the country's leading leisure reporter who works for The Times, is reporting William Hill's betting shops are set to be sold to 888 Holdings for about £2 billion.
Tuesday, 28 February 2017 3:45 pmAccording to sources familiar with the matter, investment banks - such as JP Morgan - are said to have put in place a big debt financing package for GVC to use as funds for major M&A tansaction. Some sources claimed GVC is interested in some kind of tie-up with Playtech, the gambling software and services company founded by entrepreneur Teddy Sagi. According to one source, GVC could be interested in a reverse merger deal that would value Playtech at £11.10 a share.
Wednesday, 08 February 2017 6:47 amNow, readers might recall I broke the story about 888 and Rank coming together to instigate a three-way merger with William Hill in The Sunday Times last summer. In case you don't recall here is a link to that piece:
Monday, 15 August 2016 2:51 pmI see Rank, 888 Holdings and William Hill have all effectively confirmed my tale from the weekend in the Mail on Sunday and on Betaville yesterday that the "consortium" was planning to raise its indicative offer for the bookie.
Tuesday, 09 August 2016 6:53 pmI must say this William Hill situation really has thrown up some quite bizarre behaviour by "people close to the situation".
Monday, 25 July 2016 8:09 amAnyway, I'm heading on to Tip TV this morning, so I should be able to provide a bit more detail and colour about this three-way tie-up, merger or whatever you want to call it.
