Monty's next deal...part 2

Monday, 16 October 2017, 5:41 pm

I see the Commons' work and pensions committee has today posted on its website the letter it has written to The Pensions Regulator asking it to investigate the £350 million merger of Trinity Mirror and Northern and Shell Media, publisher of The Daily Express.

Here is the link to that letter - do click it on it if you want to see all the tough questions the committtee, chaired by senior MP Frank Field, has posed:

Followers of my work won't be too surprised to learn about the committee's referral as I pusblished a piece in the Mail on Sunday's business section suggesting The Pension's Regulator had been asked to look into the deal and its impact on the pension funds.

So, Betaville wonders whether this pension fund issue is likely to hold up the deal.....
