Is the tide turning for Odey the Brexiteer? - part 9

Monday, 21 November 2016, 4:12 pm

Below is what the charming Crispin Odey wrote in his latest report to investors.

It's rather short (typically his missives are at least a 1000 words longer) and somewhat abstract. I guess that's what happens when you have a terrible year (last time I checked poor old Crispin was down around 43pc year to date)...

Crispin "The Bard" Odey - November 2016

Great events, long shadows precede them.
So it is with the Trump and Brexit.
They as much reflect the change
    that began a year ago
    Look forward to events unfolding
    Thanks to them. Globalisation,
Competition, internationalism - firmly in retreat.
    Inflation and protectionism promise
Future which is not as kind
    How long can investors cling
to the past when faced with new ideas
fast tearing down the old consensual walls
binding others where there were none?’
