Saturday, 25 March 2017 1:27 pmLittle old Betaville believes the story was well sourced and very carefully written to reflect the situation as little old Betaville understood at the time. Whilst the headline of the original article was active if readers had bothered to read the whole piece they would have realised that the approach from the Chinese was historic (i.e. was made in the summer of 2016) and had been rebuffed (perhaps, with hindsight, a mistake by Fingerprint Cards?).
Thursday, 15 December 2016 7:02 pmWhilst little old Betaville was the first to reveal that a Chinese-led consortium - thought to include Beijing Watertek Information Technology - approached the business in the summer about a takeover deal I also made it clear in my previous article the offer had been REJECTED as it had not been high enough and essentially it wasn't/isn't clear what would happen next. In case you don't recall I have provided the key relevant paragraph from Betaville's previous article:
Wednesday, 21 September 2016 5:11 pmAccording to three sources familiar with the matter, a Chinese company approached Fingerprint Cards this summer about a takeover deal. However, one source familiar with the matter said the approach from the Chinese company, thought to be verbal indicative offer from Beijing Watertek Information Technology, had been rebuffed as it was not high enough.
