Saturday, 03 August 2019 10:56 amIt sounds like the banks and hedgies that ended up owning the failed Interserve are already becoming fed up with being proprietors of the government contracting giant.
Saturday, 02 June 2018 4:43 pmOn Monday Sky News via the Kleinmanator bellowed the government was about to launch a sale of some of its stake in the dreaded Royal Bank of Scotland.
But nothing came, which was a surprise as the Kleinmanator is normally on the money.
So, what happened?
Friday, 27 October 2017 9:50 pmThey do say imitation is the greatest form of flattery. So, Betaville is feeling rather flattered after reading today's City insider column in the venerable Financial Times.
Tuesday, 21 March 2017 3:46 pmRoyal Bank of Scotland has maintained a pretty steady line about the behaviour of its notorious (and disbanded) ‘restructuring division’ [also known as the Global Restructuring Group]. Nothing to look at here, move along now, has long been the message.
Thursday, 22 December 2016 6:52 pmStill, there was one comment from Justice Asplin about the three RBS witnesses - Scott Nygaard, Mark Thomasson and Paul Walker - that caught my eye.
Tuesday, 20 December 2016 9:10 pmThings, though, could be about to get worse for taxpayer-owned RBS as little old Betaville's court mole has got in touch to reveal the bank has been hit by a flurry of new litigation. Seven claims were filed against the bank in three days at the end November, according to Mr Mole. When you consider that up until that point only 28 cases had been filed at London’s High Court in 2016 against the bank that’s a good chunk of defence work the lawyers will be clocking up over the holidays.
Monday, 17 October 2016 10:14 pmOne footnote to the case that’s worth recording. As part of his summing up RBS’s counsel Richard Handyside QC had to address certain slips the bank made when disclosing key pieces of evidence to the court and PAG. The slip being that RBS didn’t bother to hand over the evidence until very late in the day. “Sorry” was Handyside’s offering to the judge.
