Sky News: Polgyon pushes for £13.00 a share; Daily Mail/CBNC Comcast preparing counter for Sky - part 2

Saturday, 23 December 2017, 9:11 am

This time last week Betaville was all aflutter after the Daily Mail splashed its business section and wrote a comment piece on the possiblity of Comcast making a £19 billion counter offer for FTSE 100-listed broadcaster Sky.

And Betaville has spent the whole of last week trying to stand up the Daily Mail's story but so far has got nowhere apart from discovering that an analyst at Square Global Markets is claiming executives from Comcast have been accessing his research on the procedural complexities of 21st Century Fox's takeover of Sky.

Yes, that's Bruno Burki - a former media M&A advisory banker at Barclays, which is now advising Sky on its sale to 21st Century Fox - who claims Comcast have been accessing his in depth research on Bloomberg since the middle of last month.

I guess that's to be expected given Comcast was weighing $50 billion takeover bid for 21st Century Fox's assets but still.....
